God aspires us all to be missionaries to seek the lost, and campaigns give us the experience to better facilitate what he asks of us.
Matthew 28:18-20: "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'"
God expects us to give without false intentions and to be accountable for what we do.
Acts 5:1-5:” Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet. Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God." “
God expects us to do this for Him, not for selfish gain.
John 7:17-18: ”If anyone chooses to do God's will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him."
We plan to help:
• Aide in those who set off for campaigns
• Assist missionaries that have dedicated their lives to the calling
• Help others get their first ‘taste’ of God working first hand
• Keep our brothers on their feet, because we spread ourselves too thin and as such need help
How do we decide:
1. must have proof of nonprofit organization, congregation sponsored, or university sponsored
2. must know the amount of aide and use of the monetary means (though we will only be able to help in a limited capacity this will help us a get a clearer picture of the mission undertaken)
3. encourage feedback from the mission field so we can share in how God has worked
4. keep in contact either by email or letter, whichever easier
5. time, we need to be good stewards in making decision, time is important for us to make the right choice
What we desire:
• Each process should have a 30 day window to make a decision
• We understand that sometimes this is not possible and we will make changes as needed
• Complete outline of trip specifics as outlined in call back letter
• Patience, we understand that some things can change rapidly and that we are humans and imperfect and as such make mistakes
What we cannot do:
• Grant money for salary only,
• We understand that everyone must provide for their families, but for pure monetary gain we cannot assist
• Make decisions in very short time frames,
• We understand that sometimes an opportunity arises suddenly and a decision must be made quickly, but we need to be sure that we are good stewards
• Assist in construction of new facilities for extended church growth
• We strive to help in building Christians and newly developing areas are room for exceptions
Benny and Donna have been helping the people in Jinotega, Nicaragua learn about Christ. They are actively involved in the growth of the church through ministries with:
• the schools (grade school and preaching schools),
• hospitals (providing medicine and supplies),
• building (aiding in building homes, places of worship, and general shelters)
Navajos in Ft Defiance
Financially supporting the University Church of Christ with their work. They are dedicated to helping the men and women to know Christ on the reservation. Their work has included but not limited to:
•VBS school,
•bible school for the people,
•devotionals, and
•one on one time with the people there.
White County Children’s Homes
Financially supporting the Children’s Homes and also spending weekends doing manual labor around the homes out at the centers
o Special collections twice a year for the children’s homes o Sponsor a child(s) for Christmas, to make sure they have a blessed time. We hope that they see that God cares for them through our blessing.
Smiles Boxes
Every year in the fall, we collect supplies to send “Christmas boxes” to children in Nicaragua, last year we sent over 7,000 boxes with collaboration from other churches. Approximately, 3,000 boxes came from our congregation alone.
Campaigns Local/ Abroad
We support college, high school, and anyone who has a desire to help or aid in the proliferation in the Word.
We welcome financial or physical requests for planned activities/ actions that will help exemplify God’s will.
Ephesians 3:14- 21 "For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
